Skin stretch marks or "striae" are bands that appear commonly on the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, chest and other areas of the body, at puberty, during pregnancy, rapid weight gain and other situations such as prolonged use of certain medications.
These marks represent a disruption of the connective tissues on the deep layers of the skin. Newly formed stretch marks appear red, but with time, they turn purple and then white.
Over the years, many nonprescription preparations have been used to treat stretch marks, particularly exotic creams and lotions, with herbs, vitamins, "collagen", "aminoacids", etc., some are advertised as "miracle" cures from oriental cultures, etc. Unfortunately, none of these treatments work, simply because they are not designed following sound medical principles; therefore they have no effect on the skin and deeper tissues.
Recent studies show that the use of specific medications and the application of scientifically designed medical devices significantly reduce the appearance of skin stretch marks.
These studies, conducted in Europe, mostly in Switzerland and France, also show that the microscopic examination of treated skin with several combined methods has a similar structure compared to healthy skin. In other words, combined medical treatments markedly improve the appearance of stretch marks.
36 years old female patient who consulted for early skin stretch marks on left upper thigh. Patient had stretch marks on both thighs for several years. Combined treatments started approximately five months after a motorcycle accident, which caused the appearance of new, wide marks on her skin. The picture on the right shows treatment progress at six months.
Pictures show the progress of combined treatments at six months on a 34 years old female patient who consulted for wide early skin stretch marks on her abdomen, mostly on her right side. Treatments started approximately four months after delivery of her second son. Patient also had significant weight gain during her pregnancy. Although the results of the treatments are satisfactory, four to six more treatment sessions would be required to achieve better results.

How Do We Treat Skin Stretch Marks?
Our treatments are based on several new medical technologies and devices, including specialized lasers. Depending on the type and age of stretch marks, our physicians apply the treatments that will produce the best results.
Based on an initial assessment, two or more different types of treatments would be used.
How Many Treatments Are Necessary?
The number and type of treatments for stretch marks depend on their size, age, and actual response to the modalities applied. The best results are obtained when the stretch marks are treated early: On average, six to ten treatment sessions, at two to six weeks intervals.
How Much Does It Cost to Treat Skin Stretch Marks?
Our fees are based on the type of treatments used to obtain satisfactory results, and the actual time it takes per treatment session.
Relatively new or "early", small stretch marks, are treated in approximately twenty minutes per session. Larger, older stretch marks will require more extended use of medical devices and more time per session, up to probably forty minutes or longer.
Our Fees: $240 to $460 Per Treatment Session.
Depending on type of treatment, location, size and age of the stretch marks.
