Although it is not possible to turn back the hands of time, its effects can be dramatically slowed down and improved with several of the treatments and procedures available at our practice.
The natural aging process generally produces facial lines and wrinkles, age spots, splotches and pigmentation problems, broken capillaries, dull skin texture and color, and other skin flaws. Also, a once-attractive mole or birthmark may change into an unattractive protrusion, or a once unnoticeable scar may become more apparent when wrinkles form around it.
39 years old female patient shown before treatment for extensive skin sun damage and multiple brown spots on both cheeks, and superficial wrinkles around the eyes. This patient received five gentle microdermabrasion treatments over a period of two months; She underwent two laser treatments for collagen rejuvenation, one before microdermabrasion treatments and one after. She also received daily applications of 10% Vitamin C lotion on the treated areas.
Sun damage compounds the aging process. Ultraviolet light from the sun penetrates not only the outer layers of skin, but also those layers underneath which fortify the skin and lend it resilience.
Anti-aging creams and topical products are usually used to treat the milder symptoms of aging such as damage to the skin's uppermost layers. For more advanced signs of aging and sun-damage, we choose the most appropiate method or combination of methods best suited to our patients' individual skin condition.
Facial rejuvenation and toning greatly improves your appearance and make your skin look and feel healthy and attractive.
Depending on our patients' needs, we use specialized treatments that will remove facial enlarged veins and age spots, stimulating the deeper layers of the skin with increased firmness of collagen, which will make the skin look smoother and younger.

The following pictures show patients who required a combination of treatments that included microdermabrasion, the application of laser therapy to eradicate small dilated veins and skin blemishes before the actual rejuvenation and toning, and also an intensive course of vitamin C 10% and vitamin E daily applications.

Do treatments hurt?...

Facial rejuvenation treatments do not hurt. Occasionally, patients with very sensitive facial and neck skin would require for laser treatments to start at low settings. We cool the areas to be treated before and after intense pulsed light is applied. For mole removal, the application of a local anesthetic could be necessary.
How do 'intense pulsed light' [IPL] treatments work?...

The application of these specialized treatments to facial and neck skin results in the gradual fading and elimination of dark spots, freckles, fine wrinkles, small blood vessels, rosacea and other blemishes.
Also, due to recent medical laser studies, we now know that localized intense light changes the nature of collagen fibers in the deep layers of the skin, which, if applied every few weeks, will tighten adjacent tissues, resulting in a more pleasant and youthful appearance.
In order to obtain satisfactory results, intense pulsed light should be applied as part of a treatment program with multiple applications, scheduled every three to four weeks.
When is microdermabrasion recommended?...

Laser treatments could be combined with microdermabrasion and the application of concentrated Vitamin C, skin bleaching preparations, etc., to treat wrinkles, acne scars and certain skin discolorations that do not respond well to intense pulsed light.

How photorejuvenation and non-surgical face lifts differ?...

Non-surgical face lifts increase the tone of facial and neck muscle groups, resulting in a more interesting and youthful outlook, while photorejuvenation and microdermabrasion treat the skin's outer layers. All modalities could be combined to obtain a more satisfactory result.
